Internationally published photojournalists and filmmakers Molly Bingham and Steve Conners will be hosting their latest non-fiction film MEETING RESISTANCE at Moxie Cinema on Friday September 7 through Sunday September 9, 2007. MEETING RESISTANCE is a verit????-style non-fiction feature-length film set in the streets, alleyways and ubiquitous teashops of the Adhamiya neighborhood of Baghdad. It enters the physical and psychological heart of the insurgency against the American occupation. Photojournalists/directors Steve Connors and Molly Bingham spent ten-months among the insurgents there to create this exclusive, unique, and at once horrifying, compelling and insightful film about their lives, motivation, and goals.
The directors, Molly Bingham and Steve Conners, photojournalists who have been published all over the world, including in The New York Times, Newsweek, The Guardian, and more, will be visiting Springfield from Washington DC. They will be at The Moxie on Friday Sept. 7 @ 7:00pm for a Q&A and discussion following the film. On Thursday, Sept. 6, they will be available for class presentations and outreach programs. Tickets are $5 for all shows, except on Friday at 7:00, where standard admission applies ($8 for adults, $6.50 for students and seniors). Tickets do go quickly, however, so we recommend getting yours in advance.
