October 3, 2007 — The City of Springfield and the Urban Districts Alliance released an updated Urban Housing Study which showed the number of units increased from 45 in 2002 to 299 in 2007. Projections call for another 550 units to come online by 2012.
Southwest Valuation, under the direction of Rick Muenks, MAI, performed the study, which examined the growth in the number of loft apartments and condominiums in the downtown and Commercial Street historic business districts.
