On Friday, November 2nd, we hope to see you here for the release of TWO new books in the Ozarks. First, we are pleased to welcome photographer Rachael Dunville to the First Friday Art Walk on the local release of her new book, Springtown. Rachael just finished her first solo photography show at the Peer Gallery in New York, and she will be in town for a short stay in early November. Don’t miss it. For more information visit:[Peer Gallery](http://www.peergallery.com/index.Dunville.htm), [Rachael Dunville](http://www.rachaeldunville.com/index.asp), [Well Fed Head](http://wellfedhead.com/detail.php?id=152).
First Friday also marks the release of the highly anticipated local cookbook, Haute Cuisine. The debut of this book represents a convergence of the Ozarks’ finest chefs and visual artists. The result of this combined effort is nothing short of the single most beautiful cookbook ever created in the Ozarks. With well over 300 recipes and beautiful artwork throughout, you will find not only amazing cuisine but a perfect expression of our place, our time, and our people. Even better, proceeds from the purchase of Haute Cuisine benefit the AIDS Project of the Ozarks, which began as a grassroots organization in 1985 and now serves a 29-county region in Southwest Missouri. APO provides case management, medication management, dietitian services and personal care items for people with HIV/AIDS; support for clients’ families and caregivers; education for area health care providers; HIV/AIDS testing and counseling; and prevention education for at-risk populations and the community at large. You are welcome to pre-order copies of this book at Well Fed Head Books prior to Friday, November 2nd, or call 417-881-1900.
For the visual arts, we will continue our 5th birthday retrospective show highlighting the works of Wayne Pycior, Steve Barrett, Melissa Marrs, Karen Schneider, Shane Vorhaben, Chad Woody, Matt Edwards, Jennifer Wolken, J. Hayes and William Penninger. Our first-time musical guests for the evening will be Brady and the Bruised Hearts playing original as well as classic Americana favorites.
