Springfield, MO – The Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors will conduct a ribbon cutting ceremony at 4:00 p.m., Friday, August 20, for the grand opening of Gelato Mio at 207 Park Central East.
Gelato Mio is a non-franchised, locally owned gourmet Italian ice cream restaurant. Andy and Chantal Drennen, a husband and wife team and graduates of Drury University in 2006, have decided to help revitalize downtown and help provide a family-friendly environment to the downtown area. “We are comforted by the overwhelming support of our community and area businesses to help this shop be a success,” says Andy Drennen, co-owner of Gelato Mio.
The evening’s events are as follows:
4:00 p.m. Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
4:30-5:00 Private showing to Chamber staff and media members
5:00-6:00 Open for Businesses
6:00-9:00 Grand Opening celebration at the Friday Night Farmers Market.
10:00 Official after party at Trolley’s
Following is a list of the celebration activities:
1. A Bounce House for the kids to be setup on Park Central East
2. Live Music
3. Complimentary Champagne mixed with Sorbettos (with the purchase of a Sorbetto)
4. Debut of the Art Gallery, which will showcase the Art of Springfield Sister Cities Associations’ work with Tlaquepaque, Mexico and Isasaki, Japan.
