To help the victims of Joplin’s devastating tornado, Staxx clothing boutique in downtown Springfield (331 South Avenue) and Jellybeans Childrens Wear in Brentwood Center (2646 S. Glenstone) have announced today they will be collecting new or gently used men’s, women’s and children’s clothing or cash donations for dispersal in tornado ravaged Joplin. To show their appreciation, Staxx will give donors a $25 credit toward the purchase of a new pair of regularly priced denim, while Jellybeans will give 25% off a single item for donations made at that location. This program, called “Donations for the Disaster” will run through June 15th.
“Staxx and Jellybeans have a special connection to the Joplin area through their customers and employees and care deeply about the victims.” said Meghan Chambers, owner of the two stores. “Our hearts go out to everyone involved in this horrible disaster and we want to ensure that people not only have basic necessities, but also these clothing items so that they can begin the process of healing and rebuilding with dignity.”
Donations may be brought to Staxx during the hours of 10:30 am-6 pm Monday-Saturday or to Jellybeans between the hours of 10 am-6 pm Monday-Friday & 10am-5 pm on Saturday. Donations will be distributed through local Red Cross chapters in the Joplin area.
