The fifth annual Taste of Springfield featuring OktoberFest Village will be held in downtown Springfield on Saturday, October 1, 2011 with food sampling from 12:00pm-4:00pm and beer sampling from 12:00pm to 9:00pm. Taste of Springfield is presented by Springfield Grocer Company.
A celebration of the culinary arts in Springfield, Taste of Springfield will feature between 25-30 locally owned and operated restaurants serving sample size portions of their signature dishes. New restaurants participating include Dublin’s Pass Irish Pub, The Flying Tomato, Elle’s Patisserie, The J.O.B. Public House, and Boca Mocha. The event will also offer cooking demonstrations from The Market Lady and the CoxHealth cooking school.
New this year, Taste of Springfield features OktoberFest Village, a beer sampling village located on Park Central East offering samples of over 60 beers from around the world. Live music in OktoberFest Village will be provided by Gas Pump Talent, 65 South, and The Airwalks.
Taste of Springfield featuring OktoberFest Village will be located in the heart of downtown Springfield, Park Central Square. Admission to the event is free. Food sampling tickets are $10 for a sheet of 10, and beer sampling tokens are $1 per token.
