SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Springfield Regional Arts Council (SRAC) presents “Introduction to Silk Painting”, a workshop about the art of ancient silk painting at The Creamery Arts Center on Saturday, October 29th from 9 a.m. to Noon. Dottie Peterson, a batik artist and instructor, will lead the class. Tuition for this course is $30, with a 10% discount for SRAC members, and a $10 fee for supplies.
In this workshop, participants will learn the ancient art of silk painting by immersing themselves in three hours of discussion, color, and technique. Using and blending radiant silk paints on silk wrapped hoops with water-based gutta as a resistant, will help create a masterpiece that all participants will be able to take home.
