First Night Springfield 2012 is accepting entries for the First Night’s Last Song Contest. First Night’s Last Song Contest is a simple social-media based contest designed to choose a headliner for the First Night Springfield Finale with the following guidelines:
The finalist receiving the most votes by Midnight on Nov. 30, 2011 will win a $500 cash prize and will headline at the Fireworks Finale in Jordan Valley Park. Entries must be appropriate for all-ages, and all entrants must be available to perform in person at Midnight on New Year’s Eve. The contest winner will be announced on Dec. 1, 2011.
First Night is a Springfield Regional Arts Council event and is managed by the Urban Districts Alliance. A complete schedule of performers for First Night Springfield will be available online at www.FirstNightSpringfield.org beginning Dec. 1, 2011.
First Night is a family-friendly New Year’s Eve event that takes place in multiple venues in Downtown Springfield. This community-wide, alcohol-free celebration of the visual and performing arts will ring in 2012 with live music, theatre, children’s activities, fireworks and more.
First Night Springfield advance tickets are $7 per person or $25 for a family four-pack. Night-of tickets are $8 per person or $30 for a family four-pack. Children under three are free. Pre-sale stickers are available beginning Dec. 19, 2011 at the following locations: Kum & Go, Price Cutter Stores, The Library Center, The Library Station, Park Central Library, the Brentwood Branch Library, the Creamery Arts Center and the Urban Districts Alliance.
