Springfield artist John Payne will curate his own group show titled “Intellectual Abstractions Exploring the Minds and Souls of Artists” at The Creamery Arts Center. The Springfield Regional Arts Council will host a public opening reception during First Friday Art Walk on Friday, July 6, 2012 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. The exhibition will remain open through Tuesday, July 31 and can be viewed Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
Payne has gathered several of his fellow artists to celebrate all things abstract. Joining him in the exhibition will be local artists Kate Baird, Morgan Gallatin, Carl Glasemeyer, Sara Hurlburt, Barbara Jurecka, Brian Mooney, and emerging artist Kara Davis.
John Payne is a professional artist living in Springfield, Mo., with his wife Pattie and their two dogs. Payne abandoned the corporate world two years ago in order to pursue his passion as an artist. Since making this transition, he has shown in many local galleries and venues including Figment, Fresh, Driskill Gallery, Randy Bacon Studios, University Plaza, the Sky Gallery, and The Creamery Arts Center.
