Jeff Carney, President of the Board of Directors at the SRO Lyric Theatre is pleased to announce a new addition to SRO’s administrative staff. Tim Caldwell will be joining the SRO Lyric Theatre as Managing Director, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organization. Tim Caldwell received his B.A. in Art from California State University Los Angeles, his M.A. in Theatre from Missouri State University, and is finishing his thesis for his M.A. in Teaching at Missouri State University. Caldwell has worked in Springfield’s Theatre District over the past 15 years with Springfield Contemporary Theatre (as Productions Director, Director of Development, and Actor), Springfield Little Theatre (as Actor and Set Designer), Tent Theatre (as Assistant Company Manager, Assistant Production Manager, Assistant Director, and Actor), MSU Theatre and Dance Department (as Adjunct Faculty, Graduate Assistant of Marketing and Promotions, Graphic Designer, Set Designer, Assistant Director, and Actor), as well as the Springfield Shakespeare Festival, The Gillioz, and Juanita K. Hammons Hall (as Actor) and with the Springfield Theatre Alliance. While an owner of Nonna’s Italian American Café, Caldwell worked with Leah Hamilton Jenkins to create the successful ‘Operazzi Night’ at The Cast Party, a monthly musical event showcasing local operatic talent. The SRO Lyric Theatre’s 2012-13 Season will begin with Opera Goes to Hollywood at The Gillioz Theatre September 28 & 30, 2012.
