The Springfield Regional Arts Council (SRAC), with help from the Junior League of Springfield, offers one more chance for summertime fun with the family during the community-wide Free Art Day (F.A.D.), at The Creamery Arts Center, Saturday, August 18, 2012 from 10am to Noon.
The fun and free hands-on art activities will be offered at various stations, with projects including Bad Hair Day Pencils, Design Your Own Messenger Bag, ID tags, and Paint Your Own Wise Owl. The Springfield-Greene County Library will also provide storytelling.
All ages and artistic abilities are welcome for hands-on art activities, and no registration is required. Every participant can create and take home one item at each station, with instruction and supplies provided by SRAC staff and volunteers.
The Creamery, at 411 N. Sherman Parkway, is located in Jordan Valley Park just west of Hammons Field. Free Art Day is underwritten by the Junior League of Springfield. Additional funding is provided by the Missouri Arts Council, a State Agency.
