The Springfield Regional Arts Council (SRAC) will present the 2012 Ozzie Awards during the 3rd Annual Flights of Fancy event on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at the Springfield-Branson National Airport. The 2012 recipients are as follows:
The first Ozzie Awards were given by the SRAC in 1985 and have since been awarded to those who have embodied the pioneering creative spirit on the Springfield and Southwest Missouri arts scene. Each year a five-member Selection Committee chooses performers, facilitators, benefactors, individuals, or organizations, which promote, personify, and/or support artistic achievement in the Springfield area.
Event tickets are available to the public at www.SpringfieldArts.org.
The 2012 physical awards were created by Michael Stelzer, President of Marlin Network and local artist, as selected by SRAC Past President, Jeff Cumley.
The 3rd Annual Flights of Fancy is made possible due to the generous support of Springfield-Branson National Airport, University Plaza, Springfield Business Journal, BKD, Southern Materials Company, Southern Supply, Robert Swaney Consulting, Inc, Jared Enterprises, Mother’s Brewing Company, and the Wine and Grape Program from Missouri State University’s Darr Agricultural Center.
