C-Street Mardi Gras announces its 3rd Annual Mardi Gras on Historic C-Street. Saturday, February 9, 2013 from 7:30pm to 1:30am.
This event, with live entertainment at 6 indoor Venues, has proven to be one of the most popular Festivals in the region. Offering a unique and eclectic array of performances, ranging from vaudeville and burlesque, to well-known regional musical acts, this event promises to entertain in the spirit of New Orleans. The event draws over 900 in attendance each year, and is the only local Mardi Gras celebration to feature live entertainment options in a pedestrian-friendly location.
Venues and events will include:
A bead-run, beginning at 7:30 PM and lasting until 8:30, with drink specials and different beads available at each participating venue.
Live burlesque at Lindberg’s Tavern – the oldest bar in Springfield. Local troupe Cherry Bomb Burlesque, as well as the Queen City Showgirls Drag Revue will begin their performances at 9PM.
St. Louis troupe Menage a Trois will serve up their blend of burlesque, bellydance, and circus tricks, featuring the talents of Ami Amore, Peter Peculiar, and Whiskey Kiss at The Savoy Ballroom beginning at 9PM.
Club Alchemy will feature DJC and Go-Go Dancing by Lipstick and Lashes, beginning at 8:30 PM
A New Orleans carnival tradition, live body-painting by local artists, will be featured at LemonDrop Gallery beginning at 7:30 PM.
Local band Brookline Station will cover a variety of modern tunes from the likes of Foster the People and Florence + the Machine at Q Enoteca Wine bar. Shows begin at 9PM.
One of Springfield’s most fun dive bars, Ruthies, will offer up all-night karaoke by DJ Little Dog, beginning at 7:00 PM.
