The Commercial Club of Springfield is pleased to announce that Kailey York was unanimously elected president of the Commercial Club Board of Directors at the March membership meeting on March 5, 2013.
Kailey York was elected as a member of the Board of Directors in March of 2012 and has since served on numerous committees including the governance and membership committees. York is a founding partner in Clayton, York & Hopp CPAs, specializing in individual, business and non-profit accounting. Clayton, York & Hopp, CPAs is one of nine businesses that opened on Commercial Street in 2011, and one of over 30 new businesses that have opened since 2006 when the Commercial Street Strategy for Success was adopted by City Council and first implemented by the Commercial Club and Urban Districts Alliance.
“I am very thankful for the past Commercial Club board leadership and where they have taken our little street. I am honored to serve as president and look forward to further defining the role of Commercial Club in the revitalization of C-Street,” states York. “I was pulled to the street when my business decided to relocate to the historic district and I continue to fall in love with the community here. I look forward to being an ambassador for Commercial Street within the greater community and showing the rest of Springfield how great our street is.”
York succeeds Board Member Paul Parker, who did not seek re-election as president after five years of service as the President of Commercial Club. Parker will continue to serve as a board member of Commercial Club.Officers elected to serve on the Board of Directors include Ramona Pieron, resident, vice president, Amanda Johnson, branch manager with Great Southern Bank, treasurer and Andrew Walls, co-owner of the Savoy Ballroom and Dance With Me, secretary.
Re-elected to a three year term as members of the Board of Directors, Christine Schilling- resident and owner of Mosaica Rose, Paul Parker, co-owner of Collette-Parker Restoration, and Amanda Johnson, branch manager for Great Southern.
Other board members include Gina Rippee of Sisters in Thyme, Sa’dia Luallen of Alchemy…a Salon, and Mary Collette of Historic Firehouse #2 and Collette Studios.
