| Next SCT will present the Broadway hit comedy God of Carnage at Springfield Art Museum located at 1111 E Brookside Drive. A co-production with Resident Artist Ensemble, this production will be under the direction of Julie Bloodworth and will feature the talents of Rick Dines, Michael Frizell, Maggie Marlin and Sarah J. Wiggin. Last season SCT teamed with Resident Artist Ensemble to produce the critically acclaimed Rabbit Hole also starring Marlin and Wiggin. Maggie Marlin and Sarah J. This razor-sharp comedy of bad manners by French playwright Yasmina Reza won both the 2009 Tony Award and London’s Olivier Award for Best Play. In God of Carange two couples, residents of an upscale Brooklyn neighborhood, meet to discuss a playground altercation between their eleven-year-old sons. The four of them agree to discuss the incident civilly, but, as the night wears on and drinks are imbibed, the polite veneer breaks down. The couples initially spar against each other, but the men gang up on the women and the spouses switch sides as the entanglement builds to comic boiling.
God of Carnage plays May 2-4 and May 9-10 at 7:30 PM and May 5, 11 and 12 at 2:00 PM. Reserved seat tickets for this production go on sale April 15. Tickets are priced $25 Adults, $22 Senior Adults & Students. For the Thursday performances all seats will be $20. Student Rush tickets may be available, at the door, 30 minutes before each performance for $12 cash. There will be a special student price for the Saturday matinee, May 11 of $8. |
