Discovery Center of Springfield will be hosting the 10th Annual Moonlight Bike Ride onSaturday, August 24th, 2013. The Ride includes either a 7 mile ride or a 14 mile ride for more advanced riders. There will also be a 3 mile route for those kids on training wheels. This event has become one of the most popular summer time events and is a terrific way to support Discovery Center. The fun begins and ends in the Discovery Center parking lot with registration and a party from 7:00-8:15pm, the ride begins at 8:30pm. Activities during the party in the parking lot include:
- Music by The Third Degree
- Rootbeer floats from Springfield Brewing Company
- Carnival games
- New Moon Contest: The “New Moon” traveling team trophy will be awarded to the team with the largest number of participants
- Costume Contest: Youth, Adult and Team Divisions. Dress your bike up or yourself.
- Early Bird Giveaways: First 100 participants without a headlight will receive aFREE light courtesy of Sunshine Bike Shop. First 200 registrants get a FREE T-shirt!
After the ride enjoy pancakes by Village Inn.
Pre-registration may be completed before August 23rd, 2013 cost $20 for an adult and $15 for youth (15 and under). You may also register on-site the day of the event at $25 for an adult or $20 for youth. Ways to register include by mail

Bring Helmet and Headlight!
All night riders must use a working headlight and reflectors. Headlights and Helmets are mandatory for this ride. It is also recommended to wear reflective clothing. Don’t forget that all bicycle traffic laws must be observed.
