LemonDrop and Squid Foo are merging and re-opening under the LemonDrop name in their new downtown Springfield location at 407 N. Boonville Avenue, in the former SquidFoo location. Several local bands are coming together Saturday, August 24th to inaugurate LemonDrop’s new home and to celebrate local arts and music. This event takes place from 1pm to midnight. Proceeds benefit LemonDrop.
This event is open to all ages. Guests can tour the location, bid on a variety of items donated by local small businesses and artists, and enjoy live 20-minute music sets by several local bands.
The event includes live performances by Flawless, Spacetones, Free at Last, Violet Lockets, Contact and more. Attendees can bid on items at the silent auction tables from businesses including Decades, Café Cusco, Lindberg’s, Farmer’s Gastropub, and The Moxie.
Admission is $5 at the door; additional monetary donations are welcome.
LemonDrop is a local non-profit organization dedicated to promoting local arts and artists and is one of Springfield’s only all-ages music venues. SquidFoo is a hub for local creatives, providing studio space, any tool an artist could need, and is Springfield’s only hackerspace. Thanks to this merger of people and resources, the new LemonDrop will promote and foster local creative culture in a greater way than ever before.
