Saturday, November 23 at 6 pm the History Museum on the Square will join in the fun of the downtown lighting ceremony with a special event revealing our Windows on Boonville. Jerry L. Rice’s nostalgic painting will take you back in time as the backdrop for a holiday window display that the Square has not seen since the closing of the Heer’s store many years ago. See vintage images of the Square during Christmas and enjoy old images of visits with Santa and downtown shopping on historic Route 66. These magical holiday windows will delight the kids and bring back many memories for the adults! Windows on Boonville, a new Springfield tradition, will be on display from November 23 through January 4th, 2014.
The History Museum on the Square will also be open the evening of Saturday, November 23 from 6-8:30 pm where you may visit our Route 66 Exhibit @ 155 Park Central and enjoy more unique holiday images and new artifacts from Heer’s! See Jerry L. Rice’s original “Downtown” painting in our museum. $5 for Adults & $3 for Kids (2 and under free) Free cocoa and cookies for museum guests!
