Friday, Nov. 22 is the deadline for Early Bird discount race registration for the 19th Annual Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk, held Thanksgiving morning in downtown Springfield.
Early-bird registration is $20 for adults, $15 for kids 12 and younger, and is available:
Online: at parkboard.org. A $3.25 service fee will be applied to each online registration.
By mail: print registration form at parkboard.org, postmark by Nov. 20.
In person: Hand deliver or fill out form at the Springfield-Greene County Park Board Administration Office, 1923 N. Weller Ave., or Killian Sports Complex, 2141 E. Pythian St., Springfield.
Early Bird registration closes Friday, Nov. 22 at 5 p.m. Registration remains closed until the day before the race.
On-site registration opens Wednesday, Nov. 27, 8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. at the Springfield Expo Center, 635 E. St. Louis St., in downtown Springfield. On-site registration continues 6:15-7 a.m. on race day. On-site registration is $25/adults and $20/children.

Turkey Trot is Springfield’s largest timed 5K race of the year and the largest Thanksgiving Day 5K in Missouri, attracting 9,007 participants in 2012. The event takes place at 8 a.m. in downtown Springfield and the MSU campus, and is held rain, snow or shine. Proceeds benefit the Developmental Center of the Ozarks and Springfield-Greene County Park Board’s Scholarship Fund. The event also serves as a food drive for Ozarks Food Harvest.
