The Urban Districts Alliance will continue to monitor weather conditions this evening, but as of 4pm today, plan is to move forward with hosting the Downtown Springfield Christmas Parade tomorrow, Saturday, December 14 at 2pm.
This year’s parade will begin at South Avenue and Elm Street; continue north on South Avenue to Park Central Square; proceed clockwise around the square and exit the Square on Park Central East. The parade will take a left at Kimbrough Avenue and a right on Trafficway Street ending at Jordan Valley Park.
Parade route map and additional information can be found at, www.itsalldowntown.com/christmasparade.
The Downtown Springfield Christmas Parade is part of the Festival of Lights, a six-week celebration containing a flurry of holiday activities in Springfield’s Center City from Nov. 23 through New Year’s Day. The Festival of Lights calendar can be found at www.itsalldowntown.com/fol.
If overnight weather conditions worsen, a final decision will be made by 9am, Saturday, December 14. Updates may be found at www.itsalldowntown.com.
