Drury University Gallery
Mission: A professional, student-ran art gallery featuring emerging and established artists to gain practical experience.
Vision: We aim to inspire and enrich our community through a diverse, quality experience. To further our goals, we strive to create and maintain strong local partnerships.
We are looking for artists to submit their work for participation in our February show and in our launch party on Friday, February 7, 2012, at Drury on C-Street Gallery. The theme is “Love Stuck.” Art comes in many forms and many mediums, including tattooing. The love for the pleasure and pain of getting a tattoo is where the concept of “Love Stuck” came from. The idea behind the show is to promote art and tattoo culture in Springfield, Missouri, and to help people find the beauty and reason in tattoos. Everybody is a journal and every tattoo is a story.
There doesn’t have to be these lines between painters, illustrators, photographers, potters and tattoo artists because it is all creative beauty being put into the world. All mediums are welcome as long as they show that tattooing can be elevated, beautiful and artistic. We are looking for tattoo-inspired art and art-inspired tattoos. Drury on C-Street reserves the right to accept or deny art submissions.
• During the art’s stay at the gallery, photography will not be permitted. This is a way of protecting the integrity of the work and the artist.
• The goal of this show is to introduce the Drury audience to the tattoo community through local tattoo parlors. It is the hope of the Drury C-Street Gallery to highlight the artwork of some of the well-respected tattoo parlors in the area.
