Discovery Center is proud to announce a 3 year sponsorship of the Market in Discovery Town. Mama Jean’s Natural Market will rebrand the current Market in Discovery Town as a Natural Market. MaMa Jean’s is adding the component of healthy choices to this colorful and playful setting. Children visiting this exhibit will be exposed to organic groceries, natural personal care items, bulk shopping concepts and the reminder that our food comes from a living planet, not just a grocery store.
For generations, children have found joy in using their imaginations to pretend they live in an adult world. These playful scenes can provide a window for us to see how our children view the lives we live. A child’s instinct to mimic what they see exemplified is entertaining, sometimes humbling and often insightful. But when it comes to the activity of shopping, we have the ability to influence what our children see as desirable. From an educational standpoint, this is also a great opportunity to introduce the concepts of not only buying, but the critical concept of choosing.
Discovery Center will close the Market in the DiscoveryTown starting February 11th and reopen at the ribbon cutting planned for Friday, February 21, 2014 at 10:00 am.
