The Springfield Regional Arts Council (SRAC) is pleased to present “Cause Momentum: Crowdfunding and the Arts,” a lecture for artists and arts organizations at The Creamery Arts Center on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 from 5:30pm-7:00pm.
Take your fundraising efforts to the next level with speaker Matt Lemmon, Communications Specialist at the Community Foundation of the Ozarks, as he shares his experiences with Cause Momentum, a crowdfunding resource for local groups.
Cause Momentum has helped raise tens of thousands of dollars for more than two dozen projects, including preschool scholarships, digital projection for Moxie Cinema, and bringing historically significant artwork home to the Springfield Art Museum. During this presentation, Lemmon will share how Cause Momentum can be used by arts organizations and individual artists affiliated with the Springfield Regional Arts Council to fund specific projects. Attendees will get an overview of crowdfunding and the unique Cause Momentum platform, and have a chance to brainstorm and discuss their own potential projects.
SRAC is proud to offer this lecture as a part of the third annual season of Speaking of the Arts (SOTA), a professional development series of workshops for artists and arts organizations in the 27-county region the SRAC serves. The series brings in area experts to lecture on trends, best practices, and resources to encourage our arts community to continue to thrive and enhance overall economic and cultural development.
All SOTA workshops are provided free of charge to SRAC members. Non-members are asked to pay $10 per workshop or are encouraged to join SRAC for only $25 per year. Support for SOTA is provided by the Community Foundation of the Ozarks and the Missouri Arts Council, a state agency.
