SRAC calls artists for 7th annual “Pure Enjoyment” exhibit in partnership with Arts Rolla and Brewer Science
The Springfield Regional Arts Council (SRAC) in cooperation with Arts Rolla announces the return of “Pure Enjoyment,” a juried exhibition sponsored by Brewer Science. The exhibition will take place at The Creamery Arts Center from October 3-24, 2014. Brewer Science will host a reception at The Creamery for the artists and guests during First Friday Art Walk on October 3 from 6:00pm-9:00pm.
What makes people happy? The SRAC, Arts Rolla, and Brewer Science hope to answer that question with this exhibition appropriately titled “Pure Enjoyment.” The organizations are looking for works of art that reflect the joys of the artists. Are you an avid fan of books? Do you like to walk in the woods? What’s your favorite food? Present a vision of what fills you with pure enjoyment.
All participants must submit JPEGs of their work for jurying purposes by August 29. Each artist may only submit up to three JPEGS (file size may not exceed 2MB per JPEG). JPEGS must be RGB Color (no grayscale), 300 dpi preferred. Do not submit any unrelated files or documents. If you experience difficulties uploading files, you may contact Loretta Wallis, Corporate Relations Manager, at 573-364-0004, ext. 1357 for assistance. Artists will be notified the week of September 8-12.
If selected, all art must be ready for installation at the time of delivery. All two-dimensional artwork selected must be wired and ready to hang. Each piece should be identified with the artist’s name and the piece’s title written or tagged on the back/bottom of the piece. Artwork cannot be suspended from the ceiling. No wet paintings, etc. will be accepted. Pieces should be no larger than three feet in every dimension. Works selected for exhibition that are not accurately depicted by JPEGS may be removed from the exhibit at the juror’s discretion.
Selected artwork must be delivered to The Creamery Art Center, 411 N. Sherman Parkway, Springfield, MO 65802, between the hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm on September 26 or September 29. All selected works must also be available for sale. SRAC will receive a 25% commission on all works sold. All unsold work must be collected between October 31-November 3. No work may be removed prior to October 31.
