A holiday message from DSA Executive Director Rusty Worley

December 24, 2020

The spirit of community is what drew many of us to Downtown Springfield and it has sustained us through an incredibly challenging year.

The Downtown Springfield Association team is thankful for each of our members and the small businesses that continue to make us the regional hub for dining, entertainment, hospitality, education, services, community events and much more.

Your dedication and creativity in re-imagining how to connect with your customers has been inspiring. We have all learned to use technology in new ways, while finding a new appreciation for how much we value the time spent with one another.

As we prepare for 2021, DSA will take the lessons learned from this pandemic to support our members and reinforce the importance of buying local. Downtown development is truly a team sport as evidenced by the leadership of our board and the commitment of our volunteers.

We look forward to partnering with you to ignite Downtown’s economic recovery in 2021. There are multiple entrepreneurs with plans to launch their new businesses in the coming months. The planning for our iconic signature events is underway, outlining new experiences for the 40th edition of Artsfest and the 10th Birthplace of Route 66 Festival. Grant Avenue Parkway, Renew Jordan Creek and Forward SGF are generating catalytic ideas for new public and private investment. Be sure to keep an eye on the ItsAllDowntown.com website and follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn for these exciting updates.

DSA wishes you a very Merry Christmas and — through what we can accomplish together — a happier New Year!
