Wingapalooza – Year Seven a Success!

The seventh annual SertomaWingapalooza fund-raiser was a big success!
About 20 local restaurants offered their best chicken wings; a raffle was held for a trip to Las Vegas; a silent auction sold many great items; the crowd roared with encouragement for a very competititve wing-eating contest; and live music by bands (Nocturnal Nation, The Sociables, Shallow Howl, and Sequel Dose) entertained the patrons throughout the evening. Chef Lou Rice and his staff of culinary students judged the wings from all the eateries.
Proceeds raised will help send Boys and Girls Club kids to summer camp (plus supervising staff) for one week. The Sertoma Club of Springfield would like to thank all the restaurants, sponsors, bands, judges and those who donated silent auction items.
Winner of the raffle drawing was Dennis Tucker, from Springfield. He won two round-trip tickets to Las Vegas and $500 cash. The winner of the Wingeating contest was “Sizzle” -- who won a plaque, $75 in cash and year’s supply of Frank’s RedHot sauce.
