Garage Door Gallery presents Guest Artist Kim Hamburg, December 7th from 7 to 10pm through the month of December.
Back in August of 2007, Garage Door Gallery held a contest called 'Emoticon'. The contest was judged and inspired by Brad Noble . Emoticon had over 35 entries all of which were very impressive. After careful selection Brad Noble chose Kim Hamburg as the winner of the contest. Kim's 4' x 4' panel was everything Brad was looking for as far as composition, originality, cohesiveness, and presentation. To make it even more impressive, Kim has no formal art training. She has her Elementary Ed Degree from Columbia MO and is a wife and a mother a two. Kim creates her artwork out of her kitchen, where she quickly creates for the amount of detail in each of her pieces. Kim Hamburg's work would best be described as mixed media. She uses acrylic paint, inks, and layers of thick paint to create her unique texture. Kim's work is very original and organic whether large or small pieces. As far as where her artist ability comes from...it's a gift.
Garage Door Gallery's resident artist, Jason Torgerson, will donate all of proceeds from his artwork for the month of December to the Victory Mission.
