Arts Fest 2008: Call For Artists

The Springfield Regional Arts Council is currently seeking artist applications for Artsfest on Historic Walnut Street; a springtime celebration of visual arts, performing arts, food and fun. The fine arts are the cornerstone of this festival that attracts 30,000 – 35,000 event attendees annually from Springfield and the surrounding regions. Artsfest 2008 will be held on Saturday, May 3, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, May 4, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Historic Walnut Street.

Artists’ booth spaces are 10’ x 10’ and cost $200 per booth. Corner booth spaces are available on request for an additional fee of $50. Electricity is limited and must be requested in advance by paying an additional $25 fee. Electricity is on a first come basis determined by application postmark deadline. A non-refundable $25 jury fee is required with all applications.

Medium categories that will be juried into the festival include: clay, drawing, fiber, glass, jewelry, metal, mixed media, painting, photography, printmaking and other.

The deadline to apply for this year’s festival is Friday, Feb. 8, 2008. The artist application, jury fee and booth fee must be postmarked on or before the deadline date.
