Blue Urban Announces NFL-Style Draft Loft Sale
Heers Lofts to be Sold at One-Day Event
ST. LOUIS – April 1, 2008 – Blue Urban, one of the most active loft developers in the Midwest, today announced to prospective buyers that a one-day sales event will be held to sell 38 condominium lofts in the Heer’s Building. The event will have an NFL-Style Draft theme, with members of the Priority List selecting units in the order in which their reservation deposit are received. Since Blue Urban announced their intentions for the historic Heer’s Building in a December press event, a list of interested parties has been formulated through their website, blueurban.com, with inquires coming from as far as Florida.
“These lofts, the rooftop amenities, Mike Shannon’s Steak & Seafood Restaurant and the renovated square will prove to be the finest living in the region,” says Blue Urban President and CEO, Kevin McGowan. “Blue Urban is excited to be part of it.”
For the Heer’s Lofts residential sales effort, Blue Urban has partnered with
Michelle Cantrell of Carol Jones, Realtors. “I am excited to be involved in the
Heer’s project and to be working with a developer of Kevin’s reputation and
experience,” says Cantrell. Cantrell and her staff will act as the local sales
contact for the project and will be heavily involved with the project through
completion. “McGowan and Blue Urban’s impressive style and quality was evident
during my recent tour of their St. Louis projects. The positive changes they’ve
made to downtown St. Louis and their commitment to the community are refreshing
qualities to be welcomed in Springfield,” says Cantrell.
The sales process will be based on a first-come, first-served basis, with the first
deposit check receiving the first selection in the draft. Deposits will be accepted
at the offices of Michelle Cantrell at 3600 South National, Building B starting
immediately. The $2,500 deposit will be 100% refundable if the individual decides
not to purchase a loft before or during the sales event. Blue Urban held a similar
event in 2006 for their Ballpark Lofts development in St. Louis. A Priority List
was formed for that project and during a two hour sales event, 61 of the 68 lofts
were sold. Due to the unprecedented level of interest from the Springfield community
over the past several months, Blue Urban expects a similar response during the Heers
Lofts Draft Sales Event."Blue Urban is proud to ensure that the history of the Heer’s Building will continue,” says McGowan. “We are honored to steward the renaissance of the historic Heer’s Building, not just for the City of Springfield but for this region of America.” Blue Urban is the most active developer of historic properties throughout the Midwest, with projects in St. Louis, Kansas City, Springfield and Ohio, with other locations on the horizon. They specialize in mixed-use adaptive reuse projects in downtown areas, with an emphasis on historic renovations. Kevin McGowan, CEO and President of Blue Urban, has led the revitalization of downtown St. Louis over the past decade with his work along Washington Avenue and at the Cupples Station Warehouses near Busch Stadium. McGowan’s connection to the communities he develops goes beyond the buildings he revives, as he sits on the board of several non-for-profit organizations that strive to better the areas in which he works. For the architectural work on the Heer’s project, Blue Urban will utilize the services of their in-house architects and designers, considered to be some of the best designers of historic properties in the state.
