CFO Grant Supports Bloomin' and Boomin'
Sunday, November 12 2006 (10:40PM) | Posted by Barb Baker | Downtown

Downtown will be bloomin' and boomin' next spring thanks to a $11,950 grant from The Community Foundation of the Ozarks. The funds will be used for new plantings in the 26 tree wells on Park Central East and West. Students from Bailey Alternative School and Central High School will work on this hands-on project with Nelda Zehner, the Downtown Springfield Community Improvement District (CID) Master Gardner.
This grant, included in the 2006-07 Arts/Culture and Environment grant cycle, was made possible by the Ida Rolf Fund and Unrestricted Grant Funds. It is the largest CFO grant received by the Urban Districts Alliance (UDA) in its nine-year history.
Stay tuned -- the CFO grant is just one of several urban beautification projects the UDA is working to unveil in 2007.
