The Downtown Springfield Association announces a new “Dinner and a Movie” collaboration between Hollywood Theaters, The Moxie, and 17 restaurants. Customers who come downtown for dinner will be able to purchase movie tickets for $5 each (a savings of over 37%) at the restaurant where they dine (limit of one ticket per entree). “We are excited to be able to offer our customers both a great value and a unique experience. They will be able to enjoy an entire evening of dining, entertainment, and shopping all within a pleasant stroll” said Meghan Chambers, President of the Downtown Springfield Association and owner of Staxx. The “Dinner and a Movie” program is one part of several initiatives to draw customers downtown this summer. Others include the Friday Night Farmers’ Market, the “Sounds on the Square” weekend concert series at Park Central Square, and First Friday Artwalks. Downtown offers hundreds of free parking spaces, including the College Station and Heer’s Car Parks for Hollywood Theaters and a large customer parking lot at Wilhoit Plaza for The Moxie.
