Wednesday, September 5 2007 (08:09AM) | Posted by Kathryn Vicat-Dlabach (DSA) | Walnut Street

For the month of September darklight will be hosting “fall” featuring Robin Walker, Rex Flodstrom and Bob Logan. “fall” will also be the featured exhibit at darklight during Cider Days on Historic Walnut Street September 15th & 16th.
Robin Walker is a professional artist in Arlington, VA. Her work has been featured in Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. “My painting is self-expressive, but because of my whole experience, not just one emotion. I keep my work universal or at least universal tour culture.”
Rex Flodstrom is from Chicago and has shown in galleries in Chicago, New York, California and Connecticut. Rex has also done commission work such as sculpture for a middle school in Illinois and a mural for California Patients Group in Hollywood Ca.
Bob Logan was born in Springfield and currently lives in Monett. Bob was previously shown at darklight and is well known in the Springfield art scene. “There is nothing philosophically deep about my paintings – they are simply what they are, flat stripes of color on canvas. My working method is totally intuitive – there is nothing preplanned other than the size and shape of the canvas, and the direction of the stripes. The colors and width of the stripes are determined as I work.”
darklight is an unconventional gallery and studio encompassing different aspects of art & photography. The website, www.darklightart.com, provides artists information, images, gallery information, submissions and artwork shown at the gallery can be purchased through the online store.
The opening reception for this exhibit is Friday, Sept. 7 from 6 to 10 p.m. Darklight Studio will also be open during Cider Days, Sept. 15 & 16. This exhibit will run through Sept. 28th. For more information please call 831-1997or visit www.darklightart.com.
