The Downtown Springfield Association seeks qualified applicants for its Communications Manager position. The successful candidate will demonstrate competency and experience in the following areas:
Coordinate the branding efforts for Downtown Springfield.
Maintain the designated Downtown websites with the following materials:
Work with DSA volunteers to develop new applications and resources.
Serve as the primary “voice” of Downtown on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, and other emerging social media.
Prepare and distribute news releases on Downtown initiatives and events.
Coordinate user experience between website, social media, printed materials, and other platforms.
Monitor website and social media traffic and provide periodic reports to Downtown stakeholders.
Represent DSA in communications/media initiatives and planning with other major civic partners (City, Chamber, CVB, SRAC, etc.)
Conduct media interviews on Downtown development, initiatives, and events as needed.
Develop an annual cooperative marketing campaign for Downtown retailers.
Devise materials and programs with commercial real estate brokers to attract new retailers.
Maintain active lines of communication with restaurants and bars to encourage participation in Downtown marketing and events.
Assist the DSA Event Manager with communications:
On-site event support for the following:
Staff the meetings for the following Downtown groups:
Monitor International Downtown Association, Main Street, Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce, Springfield Convention & Visitors Bureau, and other industries to provide suggestions on best practices and innovations to enhance Springfield’s Downtown.
