Oscar Night America – Springfield

Oscar Night® America (ONA), the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ grassroots program that enables charities to host glamorous fundraising parties, will kick off its 19th year in 2012.

On Sunday, Feb. 26, 49 charities in as many locations will host official viewing parties during the 84th Academy Awards® ceremony at Juanita K. Hammons Hall. The events will feature the live broadcast of the Awards presentation, which will be televised by the ABC Television Network.

“Oscar night is an event meant to be a shared with others. This network of fundraising parties across the nation is a natural extension of that experience, and also represents the year-round philanthropic work the Academy does,” said Academy CEO Dawn Hudson. “This February we are thrilled to be able to celebrate the movies with fans nationwide while supporting charities around the country.”

Mission

The mission of Isabel’s House, the Crisis Nursery of the Ozarks, is to provide immediate refuge for children ages birth to 12 whose families are in crisis. By partnering with families and the community, we will strengthen families and prevent child abuse and neglect.

Goal

Our goal is to strengthen families. That’s why providing support, education and training to the families of the children we serve is also an important part of our mission.
