Art Walk Adds Live Jazz, New Venues in April
First Friday Art Walk for April – held 6-10 p.m. April 4 in the Downtown Arts District – will feature live jazz and two first-time venues, for a total of 26 participating galleries.
The Art Walk celebrates Jazz Appreciation Month in April with jazz duos from Missouri State University in various downtown galleries 7-9 p.m. during the April 4 walk.
New additions to the walk this month are Bailey’s American Grille, 319 W. Walnut, and Dake Wells Architecture, 401 W. Walnut. Bailey’s will present the Gallery of Angels display of Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Ozarks, and Dake Wells will feature Images of Hope, photography by Sesha Shannon of Convey Studios.
Other highlights of the April Art Walk:
• Springfield Pottery’s International Wood Fired Ceramics Invitational features the work of six outstanding ceramic artists from Pennsylvania, Denmark, Sweden and Germany.
• Drury Pool Art Center’s Global Warming: An American Perspective by photographer Mark Abrahamson gives a unique perspective on the deterioration of natural spaces.
• Global Fayre presents the work of Brad Brasser, an up and coming young artist from South Australia whose oil paintings explore international themes.
