"The King and I" at Springfield Little Theatre

Music by Richard Rodgers. Book and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II. Based on Anna and the King by Margaret Landon. The King and I is one of the all time marvels of the musical theatre stage. East meets West in a most dramatic, richly textured, and uplifting fashion. The director for this production is Beth Domann, choreographer is Darryl K. Clark, music director is Aaron Smith and vocal director is Leah Jenkins. The cast for this production include Derrick D. Young as the King, Cara Hampton as Anna, Terry Luxton as Captain Orton, Parker Payne as Louis Leonowens, Anthony Lemalu as the Interpreter, Brooke Stephens as the Kralahome, Zac Markworth as Phra Alack, Alexander Nathan as Lun Tha, Keegan Winfield as Tuptim, Kim Snyder as Lady Thiang, Maceo Cortezz as Prince Chululongkorn, Scott Estrem as Sir Edward Ramsay and Victoria Wilson as Princess Ying Yaowlak.
In response to the tragedy in Haiti, Springfield Little Theatre is partnering with Convoy of Hope in a canned food drive. Prior to the earthquake last Tuesday, Convoy of Hope fed more than 7,000 Hatian children each day. They have now opened their warehouse in an effort to help supply food to the thousands of families in need. Convoy of Hope’s greatest need is canned food items. For that reason, Springfield Little Theatre has established a canned food drive in conjunction with their production of The King and I. Patrons can receive $5.00 off each and every King and I ticket they purchase by donating 4 cans per ticket. This offer is good for any King and I performance
