Downtown Springfield will soon welcome a Fortune 500 company to Park Central Square.
Health care software provider IntrinsiQ Specialty Solutions expects to move into Springfield’s historic Heer’s building in mid-January, company officials say, and could have about 140 employees working there in the near future.
“I would anticipate the next two, three years we would be at that level,” Greg Metz, senior director of software management, said in an interview this week.
The arrival of IntrinsiQ on the building’s first floor will cap off the revival of the former department store, which spent two decades empty before residential units on the upper floors opened in August. Downtown Springfield’s most high-profile office space will be occupied by a division of a Fortune 500 company that entered the local market through an acquisition earlier this year.
“It’s exciting to see us moving into that just as we’re growing, and we’re helping to revitalize downtown as well … there’s a lot of excitement around moving into the new building,” said Kelly Quigg, IntrinsiQ’s director of technical software support.
