Celebrate St. Paddy’s in Downtown Springfield

March 13, 2018

St. Paddy’s Day is this weekend, and downtown Springfield is the spot to celebrate. Don your best green garb and check out the following roundup of St. Paddy’s events happening downtown this weekend:

ShamRox Run, Dublin’s Pass, 8 a.m.

Head to the ShamRox Run, downtown’s premiere St. Paddy’s Day-themed road race, for a festive 5K or 15K. The race starts and finishes at Dublin’s Pass, which means a tasty Irish nosh after your run!

St. Pat’s Celebration, Springfield Brewing Company, 9 a.m.

Celebrate the Luck of the Irish with Springfield Brewing Company. Enjoy bagpipes at brunch featuring festive favorites like corned beef hash, boxty potato pancakes and more. Plus, bring the kiddos to enjoy face painting onsite from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Plus, there will be beer—plenty of beer.

Springfield St. Patrick’s Day Parade, Park Central Square, 2 p.m.

The Springfield St. Patrick’s Day Parade has been dazzling our community for 37 years. What began as a small group of fun-loving revelers has blossomed into one of the largest annual events in Springfield, and we can’t wait to witness this year’s shenanigans. The parade is 100 percent family-friendly, so bring your clan and get ready for a good time.

St. Patrick’s Firkin, Mother’s Brewing Company, 5 p.m.

Click your heels and wear your best green shirt, because it’s St. Patrick’s Day at Mother’s! Start out your night by sipping a green dry-hopped Cobra Scare, then stay a while—Mother’s will have games to play and food available from Twisted Mike’s food truck.

St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl, participating venues, 9 p.m.

Cap off your day of revelry with the St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl! A $15 wristband gets you into 15 of your favorite downtown bars with the opportunity to score t-shirts, souvenir mugs, drink specials specials and, of course, a visit from Black Sheep Pipes & Drums.
