“A New Recipe:” In recent years, restaurateurs in Springfield have changed the landscape of food by drawing on local, sustainable ingredients while also intentionally building community and diversity. Join a conversation with the owners of three businesses who have paved the way for how we can think about the relationship between food, community, and cultural ties. Additional beverages will be available for purchase, as well as a food truck “Backyard Carnivore” on site.

This event is a kick-off for the Symposium, “Humanities and Food: Sustenance and Sustainability in our Communities.” The Missouri Humanities Symposium takes place at Drury University from on Thursday, April 21. The Thursday Symposium is hosted by Missouri Humanities partner The Humanities & Ethics Center at Drury University.
