Attendees will be inspired by Marlee Matlin, Academy Award winner, author, and creator of the app, Marlee Signs. This app teaches American Sign Language to millions of smartphone users.

Brent Dunn, Missouri State University Foundation executive director, states, “Matlin is not only an accomplished artist but also a true humanitarian. Her story is inspirational because she overcame odds and broke barriers to achieving great success. Even more admirable, she has used her platform to champion the deaf and hard of hearing community, as well as advocate for diversity, equity, inclusion, and access.”

This MSU Public Affairs event is free and open to the public.

The event is made possible by the Missouri State Foundation with support from KY3/KSPR, Springfield’s NBC/ABC TV affiliate.
