Springfield Contemporary Theatre returns to entertaining audiences, but in a new way. SCT Sings, SCT’s popular music series serves as the perfect way to reconnect the organization’s artists in a safe and socially distant manner.

“Fascinating Rhythms: A Taste of SCT Sings” will be released on Sunday, August 9th at 7:30PM. Interested viewers can enjoy this performance by tuning in to the SCT YouTube channel. The concert, professionally recorded over the course of two sessions at SCT’s home at the Wilhoit Plaza, will feature familiar SCT performers and musicians from the area.

The one-hour program will feature SCT Sings performers reprising past performances and includes brand new performances from those that were slated to perform in March’s cancelled SCT Sings Burt Bacharach concert. Performers include Renee Elkady, Alex Huff, Lavelle Johnston, Derrick DeVonne King, Johnnie Angelia King, Kelly Osborne, Carol Reinert, Riley Robison, Dillon Savage, Erin Schiebe, Ali Smith, Casey Smith, Todd Smith, Darby Vincent and Kirsten Weiss, with special performances from Erica Spyres & Drew Jackson and Kassie Carroll Downey recorded from New York City and Oklahoma respectively.

Springfield Contemporary Theatre is offering this virtual production as a thank you for the community’s support of their Family First fundraising campaign that started in early May in conjunction with Giving Tuesday.
