Show Me Poetry is pleased to announce that Desiree Dallagiacomo will be featured at the March Show Me Poetry Slam. Desiree is a nationally recognized and awarded American spoken word poet, performer and educator. She is the director of Forward Arts, a youth spoken word and social-justice writing non-profit. Based out of Baton Rouge, LA, Ms. Dallagiacomo has been a finalist in almost every major national poetry slam competition, including 2015 Women of the World Poetry Slam, 2013 Southwest Shootout Regional Slam, and 2014 Individual National Poetry Slam. In 2014 she was nominated for the Pushcart Prize. She is the co-host of the podcast “Drawl” and her book Sink will be released March 12, 2019.

 

The March Show Me Poetry Slam will be held on March 21, 2019 at 6:30 pm at Springfield Improv, 308 South Ave., Springfield, Missouri, with the regular Slam to follow at 8:00 pm. Doors will open at 6:00. Tickets are $10.00. There will be a book signing At the Alchemist Attic starting at 5 pm before the show.
