For the eighth year in a row, SingleMomzRock is hosting the largest event in the area for single mothers. On Saturday, February 15, at the Hammons Tower Club, 100 local single moms will experience a night out complete with a three course meal, encouragement from keynote speaker, Kelsey Baldwin and Christian Music Artist, John Tibbs, and free childcare. This year we want to encourage women with the incredible news that they were created intentionally and beautifully to do specific things ordained by God!
When tasked with creating a theme for the 2020 banquet, our leaders were inspired by Ephesians 2:10: For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
Our special guest speaker, Kelsey Baldwin is an author, designer, and entrepreneur. She runs Paper + Oats, an online resource for creative entrepreneurs looking to expand their reach with digital products, quality design, and authentic marketing. As a single mother, she is an advocate for women learning to sustain themselves and gain independence through online business. Her first book – Strong Girl, Brave Girl – chronicles her journey through divorce while being pregnant, and is available on Amazon. She lives in Missouri with her daughter Poppy and their border collie Cooper.
Our entertainment for the evening will be brought by John Tibbs. Hailing from the midwest, John Tibbs has built his success the old-school way: playing shows, writing great songs, and truly caring about those he meets along the way. Tibbs was catapulted into the music industry by a successful release with Noisetrade.com. Through that platform, John developed an online community of more than 100,000 supporters who helped crowd-fund his independent recordings, and it wasn’t long before he’d piqued the interest of major record labels. In 2016, John released his debut full-length, Dead Man Walking, to great critical acclaim. Reviewers said about the album, “with shades of Bruce Springsteen, John Mellencamp and Creedence Clearwater Revival, the heartland rock Tibbs traffics in is just right for the weightier, darker side of the redemption story.” Following the success of his 2016 debut record which garnered a Top-20 AC (Christian) single and a Dove Award nomination in the Rock/Contemporary Album of the Year category, John partnered with ToneTree and Bethel/Heritage Media to release his follow up, Heartland, crowd-funded through his online community via PledgeMusic to continued great critical acclaim. In 3 years, John has toured over 500 dates all over the U.S. amidst these releases as well as co-penning songs with writers and artists like Dave Barnes, Matt Maher, Michael Farren, and Paul Mabury. Be on the lookout, as he does not seem to be slowing down anytime soon. John currently resides in Nashville with his wife, Emily and their dog, Lady.
Stephanie Jenkins from The Wind will be our emcee for the evening. Dinner and dessert will be catered by Victory Mission (unfortunately, we cannot accommodate special dietary needs for dinner or dessert and ask you to please consider this if you have allergies).
Handsome firemen will be eagerly awaiting for you with roses in hand to escort you to your table and photographers will be on site to capture all the stunning images of the evening. Each mom registered will receive a goody bag and we will be giving away some incredible door prizes at the end of the evening!
Formal dress is optional, this event is all about YOU, so we want you to be comfortable!
Doors will open and childcare check-in will begin at 4:30pm.
We have 50 childcare spots open, first come first serve. Please only utilize the childcare if you CANNOT find other childcare. Childcare will be onsite and is for children 12 and under only, they will be fed and have fun activities to do through the evening.
