The Springfield Little Theatre Education Department is excited to present THE MUSICAL ADVENTURES OF FLAT STANLEY, JR. in its 2023-2024 Education Series! Based on the best-selling book series, Stanley folds his way around the world with his flat-tastic hijinks.

The beloved children’s book written by Jeff Brown is a literary and pop culture phenomenon, delighting readers all around the world. And now, everyone’s favorite two-dimensional hero has a new life in THE MUSICAL ADVENTURES OF FLAT STANLEY, JR. Filled with infectious songs and non-stop adventure, Flat Stanley JR. is a perfect show to introduce young performers to the magic of live theatre.

Placement auditions for performers ages 8 through 18 will be held Sunday, February 18, 2024 at 7:00 PM at The Judith Enyeart Reynolds School of the Performing Arts for Springfield Little Theatre (“The Judy”). At the auditions, participants will be taught a short movement combination, a portion of a song from the show, and will be given and asked to perform a short line reading.

The cast and parent meeting/ first rehearsal will be held Tuesday, February 20, 2024 from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM at The Judy.

Rehearsals will be Sundays – Thursdays from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM. Not everyone will be called for every rehearsal.

Performances will be presented Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 7:00 PM; Friday, March 29, 2024 at 7:00 PM; and Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM  in The Reynolds Auditorium at The Judy.

A participation fee/ tuition of $235 helps meet some of the project’s costs.
