Celebrating Film & Education in Missouri

The Downtown Springfield Association and Central High School are teaming up to bring you the eighth annual Central Film Festival. This is one of the top five largest high school film festival in the country, generating 600-700 short film applications each year.

April 1, 2022

6 p.m. — Doors open

6:30 p.m. — Opening Ceremony

  • Q&A with Darrell Claunch

8 p.m. — Concert featuring Mark Barger and Sunsets to Burns

9 p.m. — Horror After Dark Films


April 2, 2022

10 a.m. — Filmmaker Meet and Greet at Green House Coffee + Affogato*

11 a.m. — Lunch Break*

12 p.m. — International Films

1 p.m. — Drama Films

2 p.m. — Documentaries and Silent Films

3 p.m. — Comedies

4 p.m. — Dinner break, check out our incredible downtown restaurants!*

6 p.m. — Red Carpet event featuring live music by Randy Hamm and an MSU jazz ensemble

7 p.m.Best of Fest

  • Q&A with Cassandra Ballard
  • Screening of the top films from each category

Each night will feature a Q&A with a special guest from the film industry who is local to the Springfield, Missouri area.
