Love fall festivals? Studying events management?

Apply to be the Cider Days events intern.

 

Cider Days, a two-day fall festival, will feature regional artists and crafters, three performance stages, fall-themed activities for kids, and, of course, delicious apple cider. Now in its 22nd year, this outdoor event hosts artists and crafters on beautiful Historic Walnut Street in Springfield, Missouri. Thousands come to Cider Days to buy handmade products including jewelry, pottery, glass, wood, furniture and much more.

In partnership with the Historic Walnut Street Association, the Downtown Springfield Association manages Cider Days on Walnut Street. DSA seeks qualified applicants for its events position.

The successful candidate will demonstrate competency in and passion for the following areas:

  • Top-notch organizational skills
  • Hospitality-first mindset
  • Basic PR writing know-how
  • Creative problem solver
  • Research and data-driven
  • Familiar with Google Drive products, mail merge, etc.

This intern will assist DSA staff in event coordination for Cider Days, including:

  • Attend and take notes for every event committee meeting
  • Sit on volunteer subcommittees as the DSA representative
  • Coordinate in-kind sponsorships
  • Gather sponsor collateral for social media and design team
  • Support events managers on logistics–event layout, etc.
  • Work the events
  • Manage event listings (locations, times, ticket costs, parking, etc.)

Time Commitment:

  • June-October 2021
  • Cider Days takes place Sept. 18-19, 2021
  • 10-15 hours per week

Compensation:

This is an unpaid internship that will help you make invaluable connections in the local community–helping you land a top-notch job post-graduation. In addition, academic credit and flexible work locations can be arranged.
