Your kids are the MVP(s) of Trick-or-Treating

Track-or-Treat at Hammons Field is a free night of trick-or-treating around the award-winning Hammons Field, presented by Mediacom, on Friday, October 27! Bigger than ever, this year’s event also features a Haunted House, presented by MD-Kinney, an On-Field Movie Night with Hocus Pocus on the Video Board, two performances from the C-Street Zombie Corps and more!

You want to smoke a cigar with a ghost

Freaky Friday at Springfield’s original Undertaker, now Tabak Co. cigar shop and whisky bar. This Friday, October 27, $10 at the door gets you: a themed cocktail in a souvenir glass, palm and tarot card readings, door prizes and a chance to see their many ghosts! Souvenir glasses are limited to the first 20 patrons.

You’re ready to slay the house down boots

Beetlejuice! A Strange & Unusual Halloween will be two nights of otherworldly entertainment at Martha’s Vineyard Nightclub with an exhilarating drag show inspired by the classic cult comedy horror film, Beetlejuice! This spine-tingling extravaganza on October 27 & 28 promises to be frightfully entertaining, filled with eerie ambiance, ghastly make-up, and outlandish costumes.

You watch ghost hunters on repeat

Ghost Tours with Springfield Little Theatre take guests through areas of the Landers Theatre that are closed to the public. Guests will follow a tour guide, learning the haunted stories that live within the Landers walls. Along the way you’ll stop to hear the stories right from the ghost’s mouth…if you aren’t too frightened. Tours are one-hour long and begin every 15 minutes, October 27 & 28. Tours between 6–7 p.m. are for all ages and recommended for ages 13+ and tours 7–10 p.m. are for 21+ only.

Your little Trick-or-Treater loves superheroes

MARVELous Discovery Halloween at the Discovery Center invites you to learn the science behind superheroes, see Halloween builds from Springfield LEGO Users Group, stage a battle with Storm Troopers from the 501st Legion, and take your picture with your favorite DC and Marvel superheroes from Springfield’s Ultimate Cosplay League and Missouri Ghostbusters. Be sure to stay for the all-day, indoor peanut/tree nut free trick-or-treating with local nonprofits and community partners. Best of all, it’s free with admission on Saturday, October 28.

You’re a cocktail connoisseur

Halloween at Vantage has $10 spooky cocktails all week, October 24-28. Then boogy down with DJ 7motion on Saturday, October 28, 6-11 p.m. Come in your deadliest Halloween costume and win a terrifying treat!

You have *THE BEST* costume

Hold Fast’s Annual Halloween Bash will have live music from Randall Shreve, human costume contests, dog costume contests, special brews and drinks and The Deck Pizza Co. food truck. Dress up, win prizes, drink drinks, and celebrate spooky season in style on Saturday, October 28.

You’re ready to boogey down

Halloween Dance Party & Costume Contest on Saturday, October 28, at Mother’s Brewing. Get there at 7 p.m. to grab your first Beer, Cider or Seltzer, which is included in the $10 cover and check in for the costume contest, then dance the night away with DJ Imperial staring at 8 p.m.! Costume prizes awarded to: Funniest, Scariest, Couple, Group & Best Overall.

You want to go all out!

Halloween Monster Ball is the Largest Halloween Party in Missouri, on October 28 at the Abou Ben Adhem Shrine Mosque! This is a full night of dancing & drinks with unlimited, all you can eat pizza, multiple fully stocked cash bars, several photography/videography stations to capture all these memories and a costume contest where you could win $500!

You’re obsessed with ’80s slasher films

’80s Bloody Prom Costume Ball at Ernie Biggs on Saturday, October 28 starting at 9 p.m.! Come Jason, Chucky, Michael Meyers, Freddy, Pinhead, Crypt keeper, come all! Time to get Gnarly!!

You’re here for the drinks

Halloween Pub Crawl is Saturday, October 29 and includes 12 of the best bars in town: Dublin’s Pass, Big Whiskey’s, Civil Kitchen, Tropical Liqueurs, Finnegan’s Wake, MudLounge, Hour House, Best of Luck, Tabak Co., The Vault, Shot Shack and The Outland. Wristbands are $15 and available at your favorite participating venue or at Stick It In Your Ear or Discount Smokes and Beer!

You’re in bed before 9 p.m.

Bad Witch Halloween Drag Brunch at 417 Taphouse will decide who’s the baddest of them all? Doors open at 11 a.m. on Sunday, October 29 with the show starting at 12 p.m. (Noon). The bar will be OPEN! Drinks all around! A full brunch buffet included in the purchase of your ticket. Costumes WELCOME.

Your kid *is* the drama

The Springfield Little Theatre Education Department’s Show Your Character event is an annual, Halloween themed extravaganza, celebrating Character Education at The Judy. Come dressed as your favorite character, meet their characters and enjoy a spooktacular afternoon of family fun! Featuring high-energy performances presented by SLT’s youth & adult performance troupes, a trunk-or-treat, carnival games, photo opportunities and more, this year’s event will be held on Sunday, October 29, from noon to 4 p.m.

Most trick-or-treating events are too much

Join TheraCare – powered by The Arc of the Ozarks – for the 8th Annual Sensory-Safe Trick-or-Treat on Sunday, October 29 at the Abou Ben Adhem Shrine Mosque! Children have the oportunity to practice their trick-or-treating skills in a safe, calm environment. Candy and non-candy options will be available for trick-or-treaters. A separate area for snacks and fun games will be set up, also! EACH FAMILY must register for a single time slot but admission is free!

You LOVE scary stories

Boos and Brews is a short-form scary stories performance, presented by Actors Theatre of Missouri at Hold Fast Brewing on Sunday, October 29 at 5 p.m. Including classics from Edger Allen Poe and William Shakespeare, these bone-chilling performances will bring you face to face with witches, vampires, ghouls and more! Hold on to your beers because this frightful evening will have you on the edge of your seat and full of the Halloween spirit!

You’re looking to party ON actual Halloween night

The best way to celebrate Halloween is with $3 wells and $1 shots at Inner Circle’s Halloween Party! Get ready to party with DJ Anthem on October 31! The Hibachi Experience will be on the patio serving up delicious food! 

You’re a book worm

This Halloween, join New York Times bestselling author Grady Hendrix for another of his one-of-a-kind one-man shows, Grady Hendrix Presents: “How to Sell a Haunted House” Live at The Gallery at the Gillioz, October 31 at 7 p.m. Books will be available for purchase and signing. This Oh, the Horror! event is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
