Small Business Saturday levels up with the addition of the Queen City Craft Show

October 29, 2020

Downtown Springfield is a can’t-miss destination for Small Business Saturday. Where else can you shop unique stores like 5 Pound Apparel, A Cricket in the House, BookMarx and The Merry Moore while enjoying some of the best coffee and dining experiences in the whole 417?

Well, we’re about to give you one more reason to come Downtown on Nov. 28: the Queen City Craft Show!

You’ll find some of your favorite artists and crafters on the first floor of Wheelers Lofts, at 401 South Ave., right across the street from 400 South Avenue Antiques, Maria’s Mexican Restaurant and 5 Pound Apparel. This is a great opportunity to support local artists and crafters by purchasing locally-made gifts for the holidays.

The Queen City Craft Show runs from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tickets are $5 and swag bags will be given to the first 50 patrons through the door. We take community health very seriously, so we are requiring social distancing and masking, per CDC guidelines and city mandates. We’ll also be placing booths three feet apart, with wide aisles, to allow for safe distancing. We’ll have masks available if you forget yours when you step out the door and hand sanitizer will be available throughout the venue.

We’re also limiting the number of booths, due to current capacity guidelines. The Queen City Craft Show is capped at 30 artists. Would you like to sell your works of art? The Downtown Springfield Association is recruiting artists and crafters right now, with a bonus incentive.

“With festivals being canceled this year due to the pandemic, the DSA is working hard to find ways to help our local artists during these challenging times,” Jennifer Moseley, DSA Events Manager, said. “We are able to waive the $100 booth fee to the first 25 artists and crafters who apply and are accepted due to a grant we received specifically to help our local artists.”

Interested in applying? Contact Moseley at 417-831-6200, or jennifer@itsalldowntown.com. If you’re ready to apply, just click on this link and fill out your application online.

And circle Nov. 28 on your calendar. Small Business Saturday, Gailey’s Holilday Pop-Up Shop and the Queen City Craft Show. It’s going to be a great day to shop local!
