Apply to be the Taste of SoMo digital media intern.

Taste of SoMo is Springfield’s premiere culinary event and Downtown’s largest celebration of southwest Missouri foodie culture. This outdoor food tasting event hosts thousands of attendees on Park Central Square, where they enjoy some of the finest food, drink and live music the area has to offer. The Downtown Springfield Association seeks qualified applicants for its digital media position.

The successful candidate will demonstrate competency in and passion for the following areas:

  • Navigating digital content management systems (WordPress, Square Space etc.)
  • Copywriting for websites
  • Creating eye-catching design for social media graphics
  • Social media strategy and management principles
  • The local food community

This intern will assist DSA staff in digital marketing for Taste of SoMo, including:

  • Recognition of sponsors on social media
  • Onsite social media support during the event
  • Keep Taste of SoMo website up-to-date with relevant content
  • Prepare a comprehensive social media marketing plan across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
  • Fielding attendee questions on social media
  • Attend Taste committee meetings as available

Time Commitment:

  • June-September 2021
  • Taste of SoMo takes place on Aug. 28, 2021
  • 10-15 hours per week


This is an unpaid internship that will help you make invaluable connections in the local community–helping you land a top-notch job post-graduation. In addition, academic credit and flexible work locations can be arranged.
