Apply to be the Taste of SoMo events intern.

 

Taste of SoMo is Springfield’s premiere culinary event and Downtown’s largest celebration of southwest Missouri foodie culture. This outdoor food tasting event hosts thousands of attendees on Park Central Square, where they enjoy some of the finest food, drink and live music the area has to offer. The Downtown Springfield Association seeks qualified applicants for its event intern position. The successful candidate will demonstrate competency in and passion for the following areas:

  • Top-notch organizational skills
  • Hospitality-first mindset
  • Basic PR writing know-how
  • Creative problem solver
  • Research and data driven
  • Familiar with Google Drive products, mail merge, etc.

This intern will assist DSA staff in event coordination for Taste of SoMo, including:

  • Attend and take notes for event committee meetings
  • Coordinate in-kind sponsorships
  • Gather sponsor collateral for social media and design team
  • Support events managers on logistics–event layout, etc.
  • Work the event
  • Manage event listings (locations, times, ticket costs, parking, etc.)

Time Commitment:

  • June-September 2021
  • Taste of SoMo takes place on Aug. 28, 2021

Compensation:

This is an unpaid internship that will help you make invaluable connections in the local community–helping you land a top-notch job post-graduation. In addition, academic credit and flexible work locations can be arranged.
